Matt Willis

Porn addiction | Rebuilding Marriage Coach · Founder, Courage Reclaimed

I wouldn’t be here if it wasn’t for God painfully yet miraculously working in my life.

After becoming trapped in porn at 13, I fervently pursued the Lord, desperate to break free. Even still, I fell deeper into sin for over a decade. In that season, I “learned” that I needed to hide my struggle to preserve any love and respect people had for me.

I therefore lied to my fiance and continued to deceive my wife until God allowed my sin and deception to be exposed. 3 years later we were on the brink of divorce and I was fighting thoughts of suicidal ideation.

We had no idea how to heal our marriage, doubted if real trust and intimacy would ever be possible, we were hopeless and writhing in pain.

Many years later, my wife and I are madly in love and I get to live my passion of helping others break free, rebuild their marriage and reach their full God-given potential.

My wife Sarah and I are living proof that what looks broken beyond repair can be rebuilt into something more beautiful than it was before.

Freedom. Honesty. Restoration.

True healing is about more than, “just stop doing bad things.” It's about growing in your understanding of who you can be. Because most guys numb out negative emotions, and hard times are where we tend to grow the most, most guys have immense unknown, untapped potential.

My mission is to unlock that potential and help you become the man and husband God is calling you to be.

My approach

I'm a coach, not a therapist.

Coaching is one Christian man who has walked this road coming alongside another. It's practical, biblical, and oriented toward action: what you do this week, what you say to your wife tonight, how you respond the next time shame tells you to hide.

Everything I do is built on the conviction that marriage and sexuality are a picture of the gospel, and worth fighting for.

Areas of focus

Freedom from Pornography/Sexual Sin and Rebuilding the Marriages Devastated by it.

"What if the man you want to be, the man your wife needs you to be and the man God is calling you to be is the same man."

I work with men who are ready to...

Break free from pornography for good. Not white-knuckle it for ninety days. Break the cycle at its roots.

Rebuild trust with their wife after betrayal. Trust isn't rebuilt with promises. It's rebuilt with ten thousand small acts of faithfulness your wife can actually see. I'll show you what those look like, step by step, through the Courage Reclaimed Trust Rebuild System™.

Stop hiding and start living in the light. Secrecy is the soil addiction grows in. In 1x1 and group coaching you'll practice the radical honesty that makes real change possible.

Become the husband God called them to be. The goal was never just sobriety. It's becoming a servant-leader, a truth-teller, a man of conviction and passion that she can feel safe with.

Testimonials

I’ve been working with Matt for a little over four years now. He was available to me from the very beginning, when I was in crisis, and gave me such sound advice that I largely accredit my success in recovery to that initial conversation. Matt is wise and thoughtful. He asks great questions and has an ability to take a really complex situation and create a very clear roadmap that is custom tailored to the individual he’s working with. As my life has changed and adapted, and as the dynamic between my wife and me has changed and adapted, Matt has been there, not only as a sounding board, but as a true coach and mentor helping me understand what the next right step is, what I should be looking forward to, and what I should be striving for. One of the things that stands out most about Matt is his generosity with his time and his genuine desire to understand the full context of a situation. These situations are complex, and gaining that full context takes a ton of time, effort, and intentionality. Matt is willing to wade through resistance or pushback and keep working toward understanding. He genuinely cares about the person in front of him. What I appreciate most is that Matt’s goal isn’t simply sobriety. He wants to see men experience profound recovery from addiction and learn to rebuild trust in their marriages, to create a marriage that is better and more connected than they ever imagined it could be, both while they were in addiction and after discovery and through recovery. That has been my experience with Matt, and I’m deeply grateful for the role he has played in my recovery, my marriage, and my life. ~T.B.

“Matt stepped into my life at a time when things felt pretty unstable, and he became a steady presence when I needed it most. What stood out right away was how well he listened—nothing felt rushed or surface-level. At the same time, he wasn’t passive. He asked the kind of questions that made me stop, think, and actually face what I’d been avoiding. It never felt like he was talking down to me or pretending to have everything figured out. It felt more like walking with someone who’s a few steps ahead and willing to be honest about the process. Because of that, I’ve experienced real freedom from patterns that were keeping me stuck, rebuilt deep trust with my wife in a tangible way, and made meaningful progress in rebuilding my life with clarity and intention. I don’t think I would have moved through this as quickly—or as honestly—without his help. If someone is on the fence, I’d just say this: if you’re willing to be honest and do the work, Matt is your guy.” ~Ryan Davis

How to begin

You don’t have to have it all figured out to begin. Sometimes healing starts by simply saying, "I’m ready for something different". I’ll listen with care, offer guidance, and help you start moving toward healing and renewal.

1. Schedule a discovery call

A free, no-pressure conversation. We'll talk about where you are and whether coaching is the right fit.

2. Choose your path

One-on-one coaching, group coaching here at SafeHaven, or a self-paced course. We'll find the right starting point together.

3. Do the work

Weekly action steps. Honest conversations. Real accountability. This is where change happens.

4. Watch trust return

Not overnight. But faithfulness compounds. Men finish this work different, and their wives are the often first to notice.
